Social Media Club was organized for the purpose of sharing best practices, establishing ethics and standards, and promoting media literacy around the emerging area of Social Media. This is the beginning of a global conversation about building an organization and a community where the many diverse groups of people who care about social media can come together to discover, connect, share, and learn.

Jon Gatrall and Sherry Heyl are part of the Social Media Interim Board. Our first mission is to launch a group here in Atlanta to discuss local issues and success strategies.

Nationally, there are 4 Projects that the board is taking on;

1. Media Literacy

2. Sharing Lessons Learned

3. Encourage Adoption of Industry Standards

4. Promote Ethical Behavior.
